Water dispenser

Objective

Drinking is very healthy and important for all of us. The water dispenser is achieving that students have access to water for free or attractive prices. Because the water dispenser is placed in an easily accessible place at school, students do not have to carry so many heavy bottles with them in the summer or when it is generally warm. They also have the possibility to tap as much water as they need for the school day.

The water dispenser service is for all students accessible for free or a low price. Therefore they will drink healthy and will not buy Cola or other softdrinks. With different kinds of mineral water offered, there is alwas something for you there. It is also environmentally-friendlyif the students bring recycable bottles with them, therefore they can fill them up all over again . This saves place in the bag and is also favorable for the parents.

Problems that are solved with this measure

The students are bound to bring every day something to drink to school, which often makes their bags quite heavy. Unfortunately many students forget to bring water and because of this they have to buy themselves something. Drinking is very important mostly at warm days. Often, however, they do not bring enough water or take some back home because they were not so thirsty after all.

Implementation steps

  • consider where exactly the water dispenser should stand
  • ask at other schools if they have a water dispenser, and collect information to begin with
  • investigate companies that offer water dispensers
  • collect offers and compare
  • make a survey at your own school (water dispenser yes or no)
  • put together results (e. g. in a chart)
  • provide a cost plan (unique and running costs)
  • negotiate an arrangement with the school management about the installation
